I paint people. Their swagger, the way they sit, a quirky look, an attitude. Those are the things I can't resist. They entertain me and I want to paint it. It's a connection for me to how we are so alike. A thread that ties us all together just trying to make sense of this world, but seeing the light in each other.
My current work comes from a collage reference made from a collection of my photographs. A more extensive view of life with random images coming together.
In clay, I continue to draw and paint on the forms that I hand-build using underglazes and underglaze pencils. Recently, Some of the pieces have been screen printed with images of my paintings or drawings onto slabs of clay that become tiles. Clay is a very free form medium for me.
